Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA few waterspouts were observed near the Lower Florida Keys as scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developed over the coastal waters. An isolated gale-force thunderstorm wind gust was also observed later in the evening as dry mid-level air moved into the Keys from the east. Large high pressure extended from New England to the Gulf coast states, with broad cyclonic flow over the western Caribbean.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeA waterspout was observed north of Stock Island and with the report relayed through social media. The condensation funnel cloud extended about one third of the way from the cloud base to the surface. A spray ring was visible.
