Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA weak surface ridge built southeastward over Lake Erie as the embedded high pressure center meandered over and near Lake Superior between daybreak and early afternoon of the 31st. In general, the ridge was accompanied by northeasterly surface winds over Lake Erie. However, a southerly land breeze developed along and very near the lakeshore in portions of northeast Ohio during the morning. Where the northeasterly surface winds collided with the southerly land breeze, a low-level convergence zone formed just offshore portions of Cuyahoga and Lorain Counties. A line of cumuliform clouds and several waterspouts developed along the low-level convergence zone.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeSpotter reported a waterspout several miles offshore Avon Point. Location estimated.
