Prevailing east-southeasterly flow allowed for both the Gulf Atlantic sea breeze to progress inland through peak heating hours. Several pockets of cooler, drier air aloft worked in concert with steepening low-level lapses to produce sufficient accent for showers and thunderstorms to develop within the saturated airmass. Collisions between the sea breeze boundaries and additional outflow boundaries resulted in a few stronger storms that produced a funnel cloud and flooding across Palm Beach. |
