Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeDeep moisture was set up across much of the Florida peninsula. An upper-level low located in the western Gulf of Mexico was causing scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms to develop in the Atlantic waters off the east Florida coast. Modest east winds at the surface pushed these showers and storms towards the coast. As one shower approached the northeast Martin County coast it produced a short-lived waterspout east of Jensen Beach.
Event narrativeevent_narrativePictures relayed via social media of a waterspout offshore east of Jensen Beach. Observers noted the spout lasted from 1210 to 1220 LST.
