Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeThe Florida peninsula was sandwiched between a deep layer ridge to the west, and an inverted trough to the east, which resulted in east-northeast flow across east central Florida. Showers and thunderstorms developed during the morning over the open Atlantic and pushed southwest towards the east central Florida coast. A subtle surface boundary existed just off the coast in Brevard County, and as a thunderstorm pushed through this boundary it produced a thin, short-lived waterspout.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeA member of the public shared pictures via social media of a thin waterspout offshore of Indian Harbour Beach.
