Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeDecaying showers and thunderstorms moved southeast from north Florida into central Florida throughout the day. Mid-level southwest flow across the Florida peninsula allowed deep moisture to move in from the eastern Gulf of Mexico. As these weak showers moved into east central Florida, they strengthened due to encountering a more unstable atmosphere due to less cloud cover and daytime heating. Then, widespread showers showers and thunderstorms developed along a broken line and moved towards Brevard County. A few storms produced strong winds along the intracoastal waters, with one severe storm producing severe winds at the Cape, and another producing a waterspout near Playalinda Beach.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeMeteorologists from the 45th Weather Squadron relayed reports of a waterspout just off Playalinda Beach.
