Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA weak surface pressure pattern and ample low to middle altitude moisture promoted scattered shower and thunderstorm development initially in the Lower Florida Keys coastal waters, then further west into the western Florida Straits and southeast Gulf of Mexico. A few waterspouts and isolated gale-force wind gusts were observed.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeA small waterspout was observed over Key West Harbor. The waterspout developed beneath a building cumulus cloud line extending westward off the Lower Florida Keys. A condensation funnel was not visible for much of the distance between cloud base and the water surface, however a spray ring was observed.
