This resulted in very strong instability developing over much of western into south central North Dakota. An early storm developed around mid-day as the front lifted over south central North Dakota, though the main area of thunderstorms developed later in the day over southeast Montana into northwest South Dakota as a short wave approached. These thunderstorms then moved into western North Dakota producing marginally severe hail and wind gusts. |
