Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeTropical Depression 3 developed over the southern Gulf of Mexico late in the day on June 5th, bringing a very moist and unstable atmosphere across South Florida. The system then strengthened into Tropical Storm Colin as it moved across the eastern Gulf of Mexico during the day on June 6th. The outer rainbands of Colin brought widespread showers and thunderstorms across South Florida during the day, with the strongest storms affecting the Atlantic waters during the afternoon and evening hours. TS Colin then moved inland across north Florida and out into the Atlantic, bringing a frontal trough through the state and into South Florida in its wake on June 7th. Additional strong storms were able to develop along the boundary on the 7th.
