Weather forecast office sourcewfo_sourceStorm Chaser
Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeStrong upper level disturbances, emanating from an upper low in the Rockies, interacted with a very warm, moist atmosphere and strong upper level winds over West Central Texas to produce severe weather over a three day period. There were many reports of large hail and damaging winds, and several reports of tornadoes. Although a few of these storms were large supercells, thankfully, the tornadoes remained over rural areas.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeA storm chaser observed a funnel cloud near the Haskell and Throckmorton County Line just south of U.S. Highway 380.
