| episode_narrative | Thunderstorms that developed in north-central Iowa on June 5 moved into central, and parts of east-central Wisconsin. High winds from the storms downed power poles and wires, causing more than 20,000 customers to lose electrical service. Damage to ginseng crops and trees was reported in Wausau (Marathon county). Tree damage was also reported at Antigo (Langlade county), Wittenberg (Shawano county), Neopit (Menominee county) and Wisconsin Rapids (Wood county). About 40 trees were "snapped off like toothpicks" in Marshfield (Wood county). Lightning caused a fire in Rhinelander (Oneida county) that destroyed a house. Another strike blew an electrical meter off the side of a house in Wausau. Lightning also caused a fire that resulted in heavy damage to a barn filled with hay in the town of Sigel (Wood county). |
