The waterspout briefly came ashore on Shelter Island, in San Diego Bay, damaging the Kona Kai Resort. The storm pulled up a wood walkway weighing 2 tons, and slammed it back into the water. In addition, a water pipe was broken and electric power severed. A total of $65,000 in damage was reported.
