episode_narrativeA supercell thunderstorm developed over eastern Rankin County and intensified along the Rankin/Scott County line. The storm began producing penny to quarter sized hail across southwest Scott County as its movement change and the storm headed southeast into northern Smith County. The supercell continued to intensify as it tracked southeast across Smith county and produced a swath of penny to half dollar sized hail between Trenton and Raleigh. As the storm moved southeast of Raleigh, it reached its peak intensity and produced a swath of golf ball to baseball sized hail around the Center Ridge Community. Here, windshields were broken, vehicles, roofs and mobile homes were damaged by the large hail. The storm continued toward the Taylorsville area and passed just to the east. The storm weakened a bit and produced smaller hail, mainly between penny and walnut size. The storm continued into Jasper and Jones Counties before dissipating.
