| episode_narrative | A series of severe thunderstorms knocked down numerous trees and wires, dropped large hail across the western part of the county and produced two funnel clouds over Vineland and Port Elizabeth. The funnel clouds did not reach the ground. Nevertheless, SKYWARN Spotters measured wind gusts to 68 mph in Port Elizabeth (Maurice River Township), 62 mph in Newport and 60 mph in Fortescue (both in Downe Township). About 6,200 homes and businesses lost power in the county, with the greatest concentration in Greenwich Township. Power was restored to all except 900 in the Port Norris (Commercial Township) area on the 15th. Downed trees and wires were reported in the following municipalities: Bridgeton, Commercial, Downe, Greenwich, Lawrence, Maurice River and Millville. Several roads were blocked by the downed trees and one tree fell through the windows of a home in Bridgeton City. Large hail (as large as quarter size) also fell in Greenwich, Deerfield and Upper Deerfield Townships. |
