| episode_narrative | An upper level disturbance combined with a weak surface low along a cold front to produce afternoon and evening thunderstorms. The proximity of the surface low provided enough shear in the atmosphere to allow funnel clouds to develop across Henry and Bureau counties in Illinois. One storm did manage to produce penny (0.75 inch) hail and estimated 52 knots (60 mph) winds when it collapsed near La Moille, Illinois. |
