event_narrativeA very large waterspout developed over Mobile Bay about a mile southeast of the Theodore ship channel. The waterspout moved slowly northward across the bay for nearly 20 minutes. The waterspout was reported by numerous people, primarily due to the large size of the spout, and the relatively long life span of the spout. Although the waterspout was rather large and long lived, it remained out over the bay and dissipated without moving ashore.
