| event_narrative | A supercell thunderstorm produced a large tornado (waterspout) over the waters of the Mississippi Sound which moved east-southeast just offshore of the extreme western tip of Dauphin Island. The west end of the island is uninhabited, and no damage was reported. The tornado (waterspout) then continued moving east-southeast just offshore across the coastal waters of Dauphin Island. Amatuer video shot from the beach near the west end of the island showed the large funnel moving just offshore. |
