Event narrativeevent_narrativeA waterspout was observed by multiple trained spotters about 2 miles south of the south shore of Marathon, Florida. The waterspout was observed as a condensation funnel cloud halfway down from cloud base to the water surface, and quickly thinned to a rope-like appearance. The waterspout drifted slowly toward the east at about 3 mph, and dissipated when overtaken by a nearby rain shaft.
