Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeStrong to severe thunderstorms that developed over eastern New Mexico and western Texas pushed slowly south through the afternoon of the 15th. High pressure aloft over western New Mexico provided north to south steering flow across the state. One thunderstorm in particular deviated from the general north to south flow and moved southwest into Curry County from west Texas. This storm was particularly severe and produced funnel clouds and very large hail in the area from Pleasant Hill to Clovis.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeBrief funnel cloud observed by a trained spotter.
