episode_narrativeAt least four waterspouts developed within a cumulus congestus cloud line over the Straits of Florida just beyond the Florida Reef from Eastern Sambo to Rock Key. The cloud line originated as a cloud street eminating off Big Pine Key in moist and moderately unstable northeast low-level flow. All waterspouts dissipated upon or shortly after the initiation of nearby showers within the same cloud line. Three of the waterspouts were visible from the NWS Forecast Office Key West upper-air tower in mid-town Key West, and two other short-lived funnel clouds were observed between 1710 EST and 1755 EST within the same cloud line.
event_narrativeA waterspout was observed 9 miles southeast of the south end of Key West.
