Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA weak trough moving through the Southeast U.S. contributed to weak southwest flow over western Florida. Isolated showers developed over the Gulf of Mexico during the morning and moved onshore, with a couple of the showers developing brief lived waterspouts.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeSeveral trained spotters reported a brief lived waterspout near the Gandy Bridge over Tampa Bay. The waterspout was also reported by weather observers in the tower at St. Petersburg-Clearwater Airport, and was visible on a broadcast media webcam. Times of the waterspout touching down and lifted up were estimated using the webcam. Locations were estimated based on radar data and spotter reports.
