| episode_narrative | A long cumulus congestus cloud line developed at sunrise on June 19th, and spawned at least seven mature stage nonsupercell waterspouts. The cloud line evolved into an east northeast to west southwest orientation immediately north of and downwind of the Lower Florida Keys. Precipitation was first detected around 1130 EST just minutes before the first waterspout in the series was observed. Cloud-to-ground lightning was first detected in association with the cloud line just before 1400 EST. |
| event_narrative | A mature waterspout with a distinct spray ring was observed by snorkel boat mate in the Northwest Channel, approximately 8 miles north northwest of Key West. The waterspout was also observed by NWS employees at the NWS Key West, Key West International Airpot air traffic controllers, and by observers at the Naval Air Station Key West at Boca Chica Key. The waterspout moved toward the west at 5 knots and lasted 12 minutes. |
