A more fall like pattern of cool air aloft was in place, setting the stage for the development of showers and a few thunderstorms. Limited shear and instability kept most convection well below severe limits, with reports of cold air funnel clouds common given weak surface flow and cold air aloft. However, three weaker thunderstorms did congeal along an outflow boundary in northern Defiance County, causing rapid intensification and eventual collapse of the resultant storm. Radar data and visual observations showed the storm briefly exhibited mini supercell type structure with a well-defined wall cloud and funnel cloud. |
