Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA moisture rich airmass was in place along and east of the central mountain chain. With the increased moisture and adequate instability some isolated severe storms developed in southern Colorado and migrated to the southeast into northeast New Mexico. Some storms also developed over the the Sangre de Cristo mountains and these migrated to the east into the northeast highlands throughout the afternoon into evening hours. A series of long track severe storms in particular impacted a narrow region with severe hail from near Raton southeastward across the plains to south of Clayton.
