A deepening trough, sharpening dryline, and lingering frontal boundary all combined near the surface to produce a triple point. Isolated to scattered thunderstorms developed along this triple point, just west of the edge of the caprock, as deep layer lift was enhanced by the upper-level shortwave trough. These storms moved off to the east producing severe hail from near the edge of the caprock out across portions of the Rolling Plains and extreme southern Texas panhandle. |
