Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeNumerous showers arranged in convective cloud lines nearly parallel to the Florida Keys produced numerous waterspouts throughout the day. Unlike more common waterspout events involving light east-northeast winds in the lower troposphere, this episode occurred in a regime of light west-southwest winds.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeTwo waterspouts were observed approximately 8 miles east of Rock Harbor. One waterspout consisted of a visible condensation funnel cloud fully down to the water surface with the other waterspout's condensation funnel occasionally reaching the water surface.
