Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeSevere storms developed across portions of central and eastern New Mexico during the afternoon hours. Moisture increased across the eastern two thirds of the state behind the passage of a backdoor cold front the day before. This led to better coverage of thunderstorms during the afternoon. Eastern portions of the state were in a slight risk area from the Storm Prediction Center. Numerous reports of severe thunderstorm wind gusts, large hail, and even funnel clouds were received.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeA funnel cloud was reported about two thirds of the way to the ground in Trementina.
