Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeDuring the early to mid afternoon hours of Saturday, June 26th, Severe Thunderstorm Watch numbers 416 and 417 were issued for west and central North Dakota, in anticipation of increasing thunderstorm activity behind, along, and ahead of a surface cold front pushing east across the state. A short wave trough moving east across the Northern Plains provided the necessary trigger mechanism, with ample atmospheric instability and supportive wind shear already present.||Several severe weather warnings were issued. Several reports of large hail, one funnel cloud report, and two reports of severe thunderstorm winds were received.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeA thunderstorm developing along an outflow boundary produced a brief funnel cloud.
