Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA cumulus cloud line developed during the early morning hours of July 21, 2009. Two waterspouts were observed near Key West. During the afternoon hours, the cloud line expanded to nearshore waters along the Middle and Lower Florida Keys. Isolated gale force wind gusts were observed with a thunderstorm along this cloud line, as well as an additional waterspout.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeA waterspout was observed approximately 5 miles southeast of the Key West International Airport. A second waterspout developed at 725 AM EST in the same area, and dissipated at 731 AM EST.
