Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeA cold front swept southward from the northern shore of Lake Erie to northern OH and northwest PA from about daybreak through the late morning hours of the 29th. Rain showers and embedded thunderstorms developed along and ahead of the cold front, within a warm sector comprised of weak MUCAPE and effective bulk shear, respectively. One of the showers managed to produce a waterspout offshore Port Clinton. Apparently low-level convergence/horizontal wind shear along an outflow boundary contributed to the development of this waterspout.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeReceived photo of waterspout offshore Port Clinton. Location of waterspout estimated.
