Warm, moist and unstable air developed ahead of the front, allowing scattered strong to severe thunderstorms to develop. These thunderstorms produced gusty winds of 30 to 40 knots across the Tidal Potomac River and Maryland Chesapeake Bay. A waterspout was also observed near Indian Head.
