The storms quickly reached severe thresholds ahead of an incoming upper level trough which provided synoptic scale ascent. Multiple severe thunderstorm warnings and several tornado warnings were issued. Multiple reports of large hail and two confirmed tornado reports were received during the afternoon and evening hours.
