Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAlthough a deformation band of high clouds pushed through California during the evening of January 9 and morning of January 10, areas of dense fog formed in the San Joaquin Valley as a result of light winds and inversion conditions. The fog was at least partially responsible for a 6 vehicle accident in Bakersfield which took place overnight. The fog lifted into a low cloud deck by late morning and dissipated during the early afternoon.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeVisibility below a quarter mile was reported in Lemoore. Several webcams showed visibility below 1000 feet. Several school districts either opened late or delayed or cancelled bus service.
