Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAs the previous snow storm moved away from the region, a cold Canadian air mass took its place. As this colder air interacted with the warmer surface waters of Fort Peck Lake, a light south-easterly wind directed the resulting low clouds and fog northward and eastward, which spread a layer of dense fog along and north of US Highway 2.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeAt the Plentywood airport mesonet site (KPWD), visibility of a quarter mile or less was recorded for almost 2 hours in the early morning of November 10th.
