Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeWidespread dense fog blanketed most of western Kentucky, generally along and southwest of a line from Marion to Madisonville and Central City. Visibility was reduced to one-quarter mile or less at times. The dense fog formed during the late evening hours and continued through mid-morning. The dense fog formed immediately following a cold rainstorm. The fog area was under the southern periphery of a surface high pressure system that was centered over the Great Lakes region.
