Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAlong and southeast of a line from Cape Girardeau to Poplar Bluff to Doniphan, dense fog was widespread during the early morning hours. Visibility was reduced to one-quarter mile or less. The dense fog occurred under a narrow ridge of high pressure that extended from the central Gulf coast northward to the Wabash River Valley of Illinois and Indiana. Light winds and moist ground from recent rain and snowmelt set the stage for the fog.
