Episode narrativeepisode_narrativePatchy valley freezing fog, some dense reducing visiblity to 1/4 mile or less, occurred during the early to mid morning hours of the 16th. The freezing fog was mainly confined to river and stream valleys of northern Alabama, but also spread into the Huntsville metropolitan area as well. The fog deposited hoar frost onto elevated objects and on some bridges, overpasses and road surfaces. This resulted in elevated portions of Interstate 565 and Memorial Parkway being closed for a period.
