| episode_narrative | The first widespread significant fog event since 1993 plagued the region during the last two weeks of January. Fog lasted throughout the daytime hours in the vicinity of the Carson and Humbolt sinks and near Honey Lake. Across the remainder of northwest Nevada and the east slopes of the Sierra the dense fog usually burned off by late morning, only to redevelop during the evening. The fog affected mainly persons who were traveling. Numerous automobile accidents were reported during the two-week event. More than 300 flights were canceled as a result of the fog at the Reno/Tahoe International Airport. |
