episode_narrativeDense fog reduced visibility to less than a quarter mile across far western Kentucky. The fog was cited as the primary cause of a vehicle accident along U.S. Highway 60 just west of Paducah. A 77-year-old woman was killed when her car was struck by a tractor trailer rig. In a separate incident in Hickman County, a motorist who was unable to see a flagman in the fog drove into floodwaters along U.S. Highway 51. Her vehicle was swept downstream about 30 feet before she was rescued by the flagman. The fog formed as a result of soggy ground from heavy rain during previous days, along with clear skies and light winds.
