Visibility was reduced along portions of Interstates 8 and 15, as well as Highways 52 and 78 in San Diego County. Affected areas in Orange County included sections of Interstates 5 and 405, as well as Highways 73 and 55. Affected airports included Lindbergh Field, Brown Field, Montgomery Field, MCAS Miramar, Carlsbad, Imperial Beach Naval Auxiliary Landing Field and John Wayne Airport; all reported visibility of less than one-quarter of a mile at times overnight into the morning of the 9th.

Imperial Beach Naval Auxiliary Landing Field ASOS reported visibilities of a quarter mile between 2156 PST on the 8th and 0352 PST on the 9th. Lindbergh Field ASOS reported visibilities of a quarter mile or less between 0501 and 0601 PST on the 9th. Montgomery Field ASOS reported visibilities mostly a quarter mile or less between 2144 PST on the 8th and 0553 PST on the 9th. Miramar MCAS ASOS reported visibilities of a quarter mile between 0055 and 0455 PST on the 9th. Carlsbad Palomar Airport ASOS reported visibilities of a quarter mile between 2337 PST on the 8th and 0153 PST on the 9th...and intermittently between 0253 and 0458 PST on the 9th.
