episode_narrativeDense freezing fog occurred over parts of southern Illinois as a result of high pressure extending from the upper Mississippi Valley to the central Gulf coast. Light winds, high humidity, and areas of clear sky associated with this high caused dense fog to form. During the late night and early morning hours, the dense fog occurred at temperatures below freezing. The dense fog was along and north of a line from Pinckneyville and Benton to Carmi.
