| episode_narrative | An area of low pressure developed across the Gulf Coasts states during the 27th. A warm front extended northeastward from this storm into the southern Mid Atlantic region. Meanwhile, a cold dome of air was entrenched over the area while milder air gradually moved northward in association with the warm front. As the milder and even more moist air arrived over the snow on the ground, areas of dense fog developed across the southern portions of the state during the early morning hours of the 28th, then spread north and westward during the day. The local visibilities lowered to under one-quarter of a mile at times at some locations during the height of the dense fog. A cold front moved through during the early evening of the 28th, which quickly dissipated the areas of dense fog.||While most reporting stations indicated the visibility lowered to one-quarter of a mile, the Millville Airport experienced a visibility down to zero between 7:00 AM EST and 11:00 AM EST on the 28th. Some spotter reports as well as traffic cameras indicated that the visibility in some other areas were near zero at times. The dense fog in combination with wet to slushy roads created tricky travel as the visibility was greatly reduced for awhile on the 28th. The dense fog impacted the area bridges, and the speed limit on the Ben Franklin Bridge was lowered to 35 mph because of reduced visibilities. |
