| Episode narrativeepisode_narrative | As several weak systems moved through the area during the last week of 2024, they helped to create pools of rich moisture trapped in the lower elevation valleys. These pools of moisture condensed during the overnight period into widespread areas of dense fog. The lower elevation river valleys of eastern Utah and western Colorado were mainly effected. |
| Event narrativeevent_narrative | Over the course of the morning, dense fog from the Grand Valley began to work upriver toward Rifle, CO. At around 9:45AM local time, the KRIL ASOS at Garfield County Regional Airport began to report visibilities reduced to 1/4 mile or less. Additionally, satellite imagery, airfield cameras provided by the Federal Aviation Administration, and road cameras provided by the Colorado Department of Transportation allowed to visual tracking of the extent of the dense fog. This fog lingered until roughly 12PM local time, when it finally began to lift. No reports of injuries, damages, or fatalities were received. |
