Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeAs moisture began to increase ahead of an atmospheric river fueled winter storm, areas of dense fog developed along the central and upper Yampa River basin in northwestern Colorado. While impacts were minimal, this fog was widespread and long-lasting, reducing visibility along the US Highway 40 corridor to less than 1/4 miles in places.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeWidespread fog was spotted across the upper and central Yampa river valley via a combination of Colorado Department of Transportation cameras, satellite data, and ASOS and AWOS visibilities. Visibility at the KCAG ASOS at Craig-Moffat County Airport was reduced to 1/4 mile or less for several hours. No reports of damages or injuries were received as a result of fog on this morning.
