Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeUnseasonably warm and moist air contributed to the development of dense fog across southeast South Dakota, northwest Iowa, northeast Nebraska and southwest Minnesota on the morning of December 22.
Event narrativeevent_narrativePersistent and dense fog developed during the early and mid-morning hours of December 22. During this time, a multi-vehicle accident occurred along southbound Interstate 29 north of Beresford. A semi-truck failed to move over for vehicles responding to an earlier accident, and while attempting to avoid collision, rolled over and crushed a fire-rescue vehicle and hit an ambulance resulting in several (indirect) minor injuries.
