The moisture present combined with clearing skies and nearly calm winds led to temperatures to cool enough that near ground-level saturation was reached. This resulted in the development of widespread dense fog with many weather stations as well as the public reporting visibilities of a quarter of a mile or less at times from the evening of the 4th through morning hours of the 5th. |
