Episode narrativeepisode_narrativeSignificant boundary layer moisture was present across most of the area, especially across most of south-central Arizona, due to the rainfall event that occurred during the 3rd and 4th, which resulted in wet soils. The moisture present combined with clearing skies and nearly calm winds led to temperatures to cool enough that near ground-level saturation was reached. This resulted in the development of widespread dense fog with many weather stations as well as the public reporting visibilities of a quarter of a mile or less at times from the evening of the 4th through morning hours of the 5th.
Event narrativeevent_narrativeVisibility as low as 300-400 yards was reported in Yuma from dense fog. No accidents or injuries were reported.
