episode_narrativeSevere thunderstorms rolled through southern Michigan during the late-night hours of Thursday, May 20th into the early morning hours of Friday, May 21st. The storms delivered strong winds, hail and heavy rain to southeast Michigan. Much of the rainfall fell in saturated areas that had experienced well-above average precipitation for the month of May. In Southeast Michigan, the combination of heavy rain and the power failure of the Wyandotte Pumping Station during the hours of 12 AM to 530 AM on May 21st led to the occurrences of basement flooding in Dearborn Heights, Romulus, and Allen Park.
