| episode_narrative | Excessive rains of 3.5 to 4.5 inches caused extensive flooding in the city of Holland and surrounding rural areas. Water covered the road on US-31 and 32nd St., as well as M-21 from east of Zeeland to near Hudsonville. A vehicle slid off the road into the Black River along Adams Street near 80th Avenue where rising waters covered the road. The driver who abandoned the vehicle was swept by the current under a bridge. He found refuge by clinging to a tree above the rushing water until rescuers arrived. |
