episode_narrativeA moist, unstable environment supported the development of strong thunderstorms across the high terrain of eastern Arizona during the afternoon on the 16th. These thunderstorms progressed toward the west before sending out a strong outflow boundary across the lower deserts of south-central Arizona, resulting in areas of dense blowing dust. Reports of visibility less than a quarter mile were reported north of Maricopa. No accidents were reported.
event_narrativeThe Arizona Department of Transportation traffic cameras showed dense blowing dust reducing visibility below a quarter mile along SR 347 north of Maricopa near Cement Plant Road and Riggs Road. No accidents were reported.
